BOISE MURDER HOUSE

Have you ever heard of Boise’s Murder House?  This is a crazy story which has now become legend but not necessarily myth.  As hard as it is to believe, it’s all true.

There are many places in Boise considered haunted but this house has a history that puts it at the top of the CREEPY list for ghosts and weird things happening.  The house is just off Broadway Avenue and the horrific murder took place on June 30, 1987.

21-year-old Preston Murr was the victim in a story that has lots of facts but so many questions and holes.  On June 20, 1987 neighbors got up, ate breakfast, went out to grab the paper and were shocked at what they saw.  A trail of blood splattered all over the porch, sidewalks, and the front door.  This wasn’t even The Murder House.  This was their house!

The night before, Murr was home with two of his friends.  Daniel Rogers and Daron Cox were there with him.  Some kind of argument ensued and that’s where everything went wrong.  Murr ended up getting shot in the shoulder.  He was scared for his life and with good reason.  Murr took off, got to his neighbor’s house and started screaming and pounding on the door for them to please open up.  He was covered in blood and the neighbors were scared.  They called 911 and as they looked out their window they saw what they described as a man being dragged back into Murr’s home.

Murr was that man.  His friends forced him into his own basement and then shot him in the head.  It was actually Daniel Rogers that shot him.  Then Daron Cox stepped in to help dismember Murr’s body so they could get rid of the evidence.  My thought is… there’s evidence all over the street, on the doors, inside the house… how could you possibly think you’re going to get away with this?

If you’re asking how these men had enough time to pull this off after 911 was called, that’s a very good question.  The police didn’t show up until the next morning.  I don’t have an answer for that one.  I do know that Murr’s dismembered body was found a good 100 miles away in the Brownlee Reservoir.  And as for who haunts the house.  Well, they say that’s Murr of course.  Those that move in be prepared for weird noises and unexplained phenomenon which has been reported by many who’ve lived or experienced any time inside.
