- Clear your mind of stresses by thinking of two scenarios - you're lying a canoe on a calm lake, and you're lying in a black velvet hammock in a pitch black room 
- If you become distracted, say "Don't think, don't think, don't think" for 10 seconds 
- Practice the technique every night for six weeks
